Our Story

Devon Festivals is the independent guide to festivals across Devon. One place to find what's on, from the big names that draw crowds from across the country to the village celebrations you'd otherwise only hear about by word of mouth. All of it, all year round, in one calendar. No ads, no pop-ups, no paid partnerships.

How it started

Devon Festivals grew out of Bristol Festivals. Once Bristol had a proper home for its festivals, the next question was obvious: why stop at the city limits? Devon has one of the richest festival calendars in the country, and it was just as scattered, buried in Instagram feeds, parish newsletters and posters in shop windows.

So G&V LABS, where our agency G&V builds its own brands and passion projects, took everything it had learned from Bristol Festivals and pointed it at Devon. The guide launched in October 2026: a clear snapshot of what's on this week, this month and beyond, backed by a full listing that's easy to browse.

What we cover

Every kind of festival Devon throws up: music and folk, food and drink, literature, film, arts and culture, family days and grassroots community events. Free festivals and ticketed ones. Long-running institutions like Sidmouth Folk Festival and Beautiful Days, and first-year newcomers finding their feet. If it's a festival in Devon, we want it here.

Devon Festivals is independent and free to use, built and run by G&V LABS as a passion project, alongside its sister guides for Bristol and Somerset. The aim is simple: the most complete, most useful picture of what's happening across the county, kept current so you can actually plan around it.

Why Devon

Few counties pack in as much variety. Devon runs from Exeter and the market towns out to Dartmoor and Exmoor, and down two very different coastlines: the sheltered English Riviera and the surf beaches of the north. That geography shows up in its festivals: seafood feasts in the fishing ports, folk and literary festivals in the seaside towns, food fairs in nearly every corner, and one-of-a-kind traditions like the Ottery St Mary Tar Barrels. Devon deserves a single place that reflects the whole picture, not just the headliners.

What counts as a Devon festival

Any festival held within the county of Devon: the EX and TQ postcode areas and the Devon side of PL, from the cities and market towns to the moors and both coasts. You have to draw the line somewhere, and the county boundary is the fair one: clear and consistent, rather than a matter of opinion.

The principle has not changed since day one. No ads. No pop-ups. No paid partnerships. Just an independent, genuinely useful guide to the festivals happening across Devon.
