About Tavistock Goose Fair

Tavistock Goose Fair is one of the oldest and best-loved traditions in West Devon, with roots stretching back to a medieval charter fair. Held in the heart of this handsome stannary town on the edge of Dartmoor, it packs the streets with around two hundred stalls, community groups and showground rides for a full day of old-fashioned fun.

While the fairground and market take over the centre, the more traditional side lives on at the livestock centre, where you can still find the fair's farming heritage on display. Free to wander and deeply rooted in the community, it is a quintessential Dartmoor-fringe day out that locals look forward to all year.
